Una Pizza Napoletana in New York City topped the 2026 50 Top Pizza USA ranking for the fifth year in a row, according to the list reported by Fox News Digital. The restaurant also ranked second in the organization’s 2026 global list.
The U.S. ranking’s next positions included a tie for second between Los Angeles’ Pizzeria Sei and Tony’s Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco. Razza in Jersey City, New Jersey, and Truly Pizza in Dana Point, California, were also among the top five. The source identifies Francesco Martucci’s Miami restaurant as another featured U.S. pizzeria, but does not specify its position in the national ranking.
The restaurants offer a range of styles and approaches. Tony’s, run by pizza maker Tony Gemignani, serves several styles, including Detroit, Sicilian, New York and Romana. Pizzeria Sei is described as making Tokyo-style Neapolitan pizza, while Truly Pizza emphasizes seasonal ingredients and local farmers. Razza highlights its ingredients and in-house preparation.
Colin Caplan, a New Haven-based food historian and pizza expert, said that “best” ultimately depends on personal preference. He described 50 Top Pizza as a respected, chef-focused organization, while suggesting its Italian roots could favor styles such as Neapolitan. He also said ranked lists can introduce diners to restaurants and dishes they might not otherwise try.
The ranking is an editorial assessment rather than a definitive measure of taste. Caplan’s comments underscore that diners may weigh styles, ingredients and preparation differently.
