Kendall Kotzmacher, a 20-year-old sophomore at Colorado Christian University, said she reported a death threat to her school after a person threatened to come to campus and kill her. She told OutKick no one had been arrested, and described receiving other messages urging her to die or harm herself.
Kotzmacher said the hostility has increased as she has become more visible in advocacy opposing transgender athletes’ participation in girls’ and women’s sports. She also expressed concern for teammates who publicly support her, saying one person engaged with their social media accounts and searched for information about them. Kotzmacher said her teammates declined her offer to remove their names from her posts.
She transferred from Western Michigan University to Colorado Christian over the summer. In a September Fox News opinion article, she attributed the move to insufficient coaching support and academic pressure.
Kotzmacher’s advocacy followed White Bear Lake High School’s 2025 Minnesota Class AAAA state semifinal loss to Champlin Park, whose team included a transgender pitcher. Champlin Park later won the championship. Kotzmacher also attended a Sept. 23 Capitol Hill news conference after a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on fairness, opportunity and safety for female athletes.
She said the public attention has brought personal costs, including lost friendships, but that she continues speaking out because she is concerned about younger female athletes. The account of the threat and other harassment is based on Kotzmacher’s statements to OutKick; the supplied reporting does not identify a suspect or report an arrest.
