Costa Rican authorities are seeking the public’s help to identify a woman suspected of homicide after a 74-year-old American citizen was found dead in a condominium in Playas del Coco on Sept. 27, according to the country’s Judicial Investigation Agency.
Authorities identified the man by the surname Fleming. The agency said he entered the condominium at about 4:50 p.m. that day and that the woman was allegedly seen leaving without him. Officials later found his body with head injuries they said were likely caused by blunt objects.
The woman has not been publicly identified. Authorities described her as having a fair complexion, a slender build and black hair, and being about 1.60 meters tall. At the time, she was reportedly wearing denim shorts, sandals and a white bra with chain-like accessories. Police-released security video showed her walking along a street with another woman.
The agency is asking anyone with information about the incident or the woman to call 800-800-0645. Fox News reported it had contacted the U.S. State Department for comment.
