San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw was ejected during the second quarter of the team’s Sunday game against the Seattle Seahawks after an altercation on Seattle’s sideline, according to Fox News’ account of the game.
Greenlaw hit Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold as Darnold ran out of bounds near the Seattle bench, drawing a personal-foul penalty. Seahawks players gathered around Greenlaw, and he then headbutted linebacker Ernest Jones, the report said. Greenlaw was ejected. Fox’s account said Jones wiped his face with a towel and appeared to have a cut, but did not independently establish its cause or severity.
Any further discipline is up to the NFL. The source report said league officials review such incidents after games and may impose a fine, warning or suspension. It noted that ejection from a game does not automatically result in a suspension.
The report also cited Greenlaw’s prior disciplinary history, including a league suspension in 2025 for conduct toward a game official after a Broncos-Giants game, and a fine issued the week before the Seahawks game for unsportsmanlike conduct. Those incidents are separate from the Seattle altercation.
The NFL had not announced a decision on additional discipline in the supplied report. The account was published Oct. 11, 2026, following the game.
