Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, the luxury property on France’s Côte d’Azur, has restricted photography on its grounds, saying guests must obtain management approval for photo shoots.

The hotel’s website says the rule is intended to preserve guests’ peace and privacy. Requests for special photography arrangements can be referred to the concierge, which may connect visitors with the property’s photographer.

Hotel manager Sophie Volant told Travel Weekly that some people visiting for lunch focused on taking pictures rather than their meals. The outlet also reported that some visitors who were not staying at the hotel arrived with clothing and jewelry and changed outfits during extended shoots.

Volant said many guests supported the policy, with some seeking stricter enforcement, according to Travel Weekly. The hotel has drawn prominent visitors over the years, including members of the Kennedy family and Grace Kelly, and hosted Sofia Richie Grainge’s 2023 wedding.

The rule addresses photography and photo shoots; the supplied reporting does not describe a general ban on cellphone use. Fox News Digital said it sought additional comment from the hotel.
