A Miami-Dade County jury found former NFL player Tyreek Hill liable for two battery claims brought by Lakeeta Vaccaro and awarded her $500,000 in compensatory damages, according to Fox News. The verdict came Tuesday at the conclusion of a civil trial connected to the couple’s divorce proceedings.
The jury found Hill liable for incidents alleged to have occurred on Jan. 11, 2024, and April 7, 2025. In the first claim, Vaccaro alleged Hill pushed and shoved her during a dispute involving a proposed postnuptial agreement. She also accused him of strangling her. In the second, she alleged he shoved and restrained her and threw her computer. The jury found Hill liable on both claims; these are civil findings, not criminal convictions.
The panel found Hill not liable on five other battery claims, one assault claim, one claim of intentional infliction of emotional distress and one claim of continuing domestic violence, the report said. Vaccaro’s attorneys also agreed to dismiss another battery claim before the verdict.
The report said the NFL has an ongoing review of Hill under its Personal Conduct Policy. The jury’s findings may be considered in that process, but the league’s review is separate from the civil case.
The verdict resolves the claims decided in this trial; the source does not report any further court action.
