Kourtney Kardashian discussed Jennifer Lawrence’s criticism of her on the season 8 premiere of “The Kardashians,” saying the actress later contacted her by email to apologize.
The exchange began during a 2025 Vanity Fair lie-detector interview, when Lawrence named Khloé Kardashian as her favorite member of the family and criticized Kourtney’s on-screen habit of making announcements about personal choices. Lawrence also said Kourtney was “more annoying than ever” and “drives me nuts.”
Kourtney said she reacted angrily after her mother, Kris Jenner, mentioned spending time with Lawrence and Emma Stone. On the show, she recalled making hostile remarks about Lawrence and joked with friend Simon Huck about whether to answer the email with a playful threat referencing a physical fight between Kourtney and her sister Kim.
Kourtney said she reconsidered the comments after rewatching the interview. She described the remarks as not as bad as she had initially thought, while adding that they came during a sensitive period when the family’s show was airing and she felt people were criticizing her.
Lawrence discussed the attention around her remarks during a January appearance on Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast. She said her comments can sound more extreme when turned into headlines, and suggested she should do less press.
The episode’s account and the earlier interview offer the perspectives of the people involved; the reported private email was described by Kardashian on the reality show.
