Leon Slater was set to challenge Nic Nemeth for the TNA World Championship at Bound for Glory on Oct. 11, 2026, in Tampa, Florida, according to Fox News. The event was scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. ET and stream on TNA+.
Slater, 22, could become the youngest world champion in TNA history if he defeats Nemeth. He secured the title opportunity by using TNA’s Option C provision, trading in his X Division Championship for a shot at the world title.
The British wrestler joined TNA in 2023 and won the X Division Championship in May 2025. He later regained that title at Slammiversary, but his second reign lasted only a few hours before he announced he would pursue the world championship.
Nemeth entered the match in his second reign as champion. He won the title from Mike Santana at Slammiversary after earning his opportunity through the Call Your Shot Gauntlet. A separate gauntlet match was also scheduled for Bound for Glory, with a future world-title opportunity at stake.
Before the title match, TNA authority figure Santino Marella barred Slater and Nemeth from physical contact, according to the source. Slater said on the wrestling program “Impact” that the restriction would not deter him.
The match was part of TNA’s annual Bound for Glory event, which the source described as the promotion’s largest pay-per-view of the year.
