Federal regulators have announced recalls covering more than 82,000 rechargeable hand warmers sold in the United States, citing risks of overheating, fire and burns. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said no injuries had been reported in connection with the products as of its notices.

The recalls affect about 77,000 HotHands-branded warmers and approximately 5,500 Gobi Heat-branded units sold in the United States. Smaller quantities of both products were sold in Canada. The commission said consumers should stop using recalled warmers and contact the companies for refunds.

The HotHands model is identified by model number H163650 and a batch number on the underside. The white-and-orange devices were sold by retailers including Target, The Home Depot, Amazon, Bass Pro Shops and Meijer from July 2025 through August 2026, for about $30 to $40.

The recalled Gobi Heat model, UT3053, is black and gray, with the model number on the underside. It was sold through GobiHeat.com from October 2024 through August 2026 for about $20 to $40.

Both products are rechargeable, have built-in lithium-ion batteries and were sold in two-piece sets that can be joined magnetically. The commission warned consumers not to put the recalled devices in household garbage, curbside recycling or retail battery-collection boxes. It said consumers should check with their municipal household hazardous waste collection center about proper disposal.
