NASA described three small spacecraft among the payloads prepared for a SpaceX Falcon 9 launch scheduled for Oct. 1, 2026. The image shows the spacecraft before they were encapsulated in the rocket, according to the agency; SpaceX is credited for the image.
The missions are the ASCENT Propulsion Dual Mode CubeSat, the Supernova Remnants and Proxies for ReIonization Testbed Experiment (SPRITE) CubeSat, and the Small Spacecraft Propulsion and Inspection Capability (SSPICY) mission.
NASA said the spacecraft are intended to demonstrate propulsion technologies, study how galactic dust and high-energy radiation travel through galaxies, and improve capabilities for inspecting inactive satellites. The agency’s material does not provide launch results or confirm that the scheduled launch occurred.
