Robert Kelker-Kelly, known for playing Bo Brady on “Days of Our Lives,” reported chest and left-arm pain hours before he died at age 62, according to a St. Peters Police Department report obtained by Fox News Digital. The report described the events of Oct. 3, 2026, and did not state an official cause of death.
Kelker-Kelly’s wife, Allison Kelly, told police she picked him up at Spirit of St. Louis Airport at about 7:30 p.m. During their drive home, he said his left arm and chest hurt and asked her to pull over so he could vomit, the report said.
Kelly asked whether he wanted to go to a hospital. He declined and asked to be taken home so he could lie down. Once there, he changed clothes and got into bed. He continued to feel pain and asked his wife to bring him an aspirin, according to the report.
When Kelly came back from the kitchen, she found him unresponsive and not breathing. She called 911 and began CPR. St. Peters police and the St. Charles County Ambulance District arrived at the couple’s Missouri home shortly after 8 p.m. Paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but Kelker-Kelly was pronounced dead at 9:09 p.m., the report said.
Kelly told investigators that her husband had no known medical conditions and did not take prescription medication. She also said he had not experienced a serious injury or undergone surgery in the prior year, according to the report.
Police told Fox News Digital that investigators found nothing suspicious at the scene. The department said Kelker-Kelly had reportedly complained of chest pain shortly before becoming unresponsive and that the circumstances appeared consistent with a medical event. The report said the county medical examiner released his remains with no further need for investigation. It did not give an official cause of death.
Kelker-Kelly was born in Wichita, Kansas, on April 18, 1964. He began his soap-opera career as Sam Fowler on “Another World” in 1987. In 1992, he took over the role of Bo Brady on “Days of Our Lives,” succeeding Peter Reckell, who had originated the character. Kelker-Kelly played Bo until 1995 and received a 1994 Soap Opera Digest Award for outstanding lead actor.
He later portrayed Stavros Cassadine on “General Hospital,” appearing in the role from 2001 to 2003 and returning in 2013 and 2014. The police report’s account of his final hours provides details about his symptoms and emergency response, but does not establish a medical cause of death.
