Houston is acquiring wide receiver Marvin Harrison from the Arizona Cardinals, according to a report published Oct. 11 by OutKick. Texans coach DeMeco Ryans appeared to confirm the move when asked after Houston’s game against Tennessee, joking that the teams had traded for Harrison.
The report, citing an unnamed NFL source, said the Texans will send Arizona a second-round and a sixth-round draft pick in exchange for Harrison and a seventh-round pick. The source material does not include a team announcement or further confirmation of the reported terms.
Harrison and Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud were teammates at Ohio State. Houston’s interest also comes as the team seeks additional options at wide receiver beyond Nico Collins, according to the report.
Harrison was selected by Arizona in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The report described the trade discussions as having involved multiple teams, but did not name the other interested clubs.
The Texans’ win over Tennessee was their first of the season, the report said. It listed Houston’s record as 1-4 and noted the team was pursuing help ahead of the November trade deadline.
