A court affidavit alleges Selma Blair kicked a nurse in the chest while the nurse was helping transport the actress for further medical treatment at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Queens around 2 a.m. on Oct. 12, according to the licensed report. The filing says the nurse experienced substantial pain.
The allegation followed Blair’s arrest at John F. Kennedy International Airport after a reported incident aboard a Delta flight from Los Angeles. She was arraigned Monday on two counts of second-degree assault. The report says two flight attendants reported injuries, and one was taken to a hospital.
The affidavit also alleges Blair kicked a Port Authority police officer as she was secured on a stretcher while being moved from the terminal to an ambulance. It says the officer sustained swelling to her jaw and pain to her face, neck and chest.
Blair’s attorney, Shawn Barnes, argued in court that the alleged conduct was not intentional. He said Blair had missed doses of medication for severe neurological symptoms and was confused and disoriented. A representative for Blair said she experienced a medical emergency during the flight, received medical attention after landing and was in stable condition.
Blair, who has spoken publicly about being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018, was released on bond and is expected back in court in January, the report said. The charges and allegations remain unresolved.
