Sylvester Stallone said he regrets doing his own stunts after decades of action roles led to serious injuries and numerous operations.
In an interview with Fox News Digital published Oct. 13, 2026, the actor said that after working on the “Expendables” films, he underwent nine back operations and three neck fusions. He also described injuries to both shoulders and his eye. Stallone said he has not been quite the same since the surgeries and has had to make peace with ongoing pain.
Stallone said his advice to people considering stunt work is to leave it to professionals. He called himself an “idiot” for taking the risks, saying that falling can cause lasting harm.
The interview also covered the fourth season of “Tulsa King,” in which Stallone plays Dwight Manfredi. The season was scheduled to premiere Oct. 16, 2026, on Paramount+. Stallone said the character faces new adversaries and conflict within his own group.
Stallone also discussed his move from California to Florida with his wife, Jennifer Flavin. The couple relocated permanently in 2024, he said, and he described the change as invigorating. He also praised his future son-in-law, Michael Sheehan, who is engaged to Stallone’s daughter Sophia.
