Texas A&M coach Mike Elko addressed frustrated supporters after the Aggies’ 27-6 loss to Missouri on Saturday, telling fans to remain behind the team while taking aim at an online community associated with the program.
At a postgame press conference, Elko distinguished between the broader fan base and social media. He encouraged supporters to stay with the team and said the program would work through its struggles. He also disparaged what he called “Billy’s cesspool,” a reference identified by Fox News’ OutKick as TexAgs, a Texas A&M-focused website and message board operated by Billy Liucci.
The defeat left Texas A&M at 3-3, according to the report. The Aggies had entered the season ranked eighth nationally, the source said. Elko’s remarks came as the team faced mounting criticism following another loss.
The source lists upcoming games against Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. It does not provide further comments from Elko or a response from TexAgs or Liucci.
