Three men were arrested after a late-night armed robbery at a Franklin, Tennessee, home that police said was connected to jewelry advertised for sale on Facebook Marketplace.

Franklin police said officers responded to the home in northeast Franklin shortly after 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9. Investigators determined the robbery was linked to the online listing, according to the department.

The suspects left the area but were spotted by responding officers, police said. A vehicle pursuit followed, and all three were taken into custody. Authorities identified them as Ivan Lagos-Espinoza, 22, and Jose Paiz-Godoy, 23, both of Nashville, and Rubel Rodriguez-Lisa, 19, of Lebanon.

The men face multiple charges, including aggravated robbery, felony evading and tampering with evidence. The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation and arrests, police said. The source material does not provide further details about the alleged robbery or the status of the charges.

The department used the case to remind online marketplace users to take precautions when arranging in-person transactions. Police advised meeting in public, well-lit places, preferably with other people nearby and surveillance cameras. For valuable merchandise, authorities suggested meeting at a police station or another law enforcement facility.

Police also advised sellers to bring someone with them, avoid carrying substantial cash and limit what they disclose about their home, schedule and other valuables. The department urged users to cancel a transaction if the buyer, seller or proposed meeting place raises concerns.
