President Donald Trump used a campaign rally in Youngstown, Ohio, on Monday night to attack Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., hours after federal agents searched her home as part of an ongoing investigation.

Trump criticized Omar and Minnesota’s Somali community. During his remarks, rallygoers began chanting “deport,” according to Fox News. Trump also referred to reported violence at a Minnesota high school event and an arrest in a separate alleged attack plot.

A Justice Department spokesperson said Homeland Security Investigations had carried out a search warrant authorized by a judge and that the action was part of an ongoing federal investigation. The department later characterized the probe as criminal. Fox News, citing two sources close to the investigation, reported that it concerned Omar’s immigration paperwork, which the sources said was completed by her late father.

Omar said on X that she was “ok” after the search. She described the action as an effort to target political opponents and said she would not be silenced. The source report does not establish that Omar has been charged with a crime.
