President Donald Trump said Saturday he has not made a final decision on whether the military should livestream the scheduled execution of Nidal Malik Hasan, according to Fox News.

The Pentagon previously told Fox News Digital that Hasan’s execution was scheduled for Dec. 3 and would be broadcast. Hasan, a former Army major, was convicted of killing 13 people and wounding 32 in the 2009 Fort Hood attack.

Asked about the broadcast at the White House, Trump said he saw arguments both for and against showing the execution. He said the military wanted it to serve as an example, and that he would make the final decision. In remarks to CNY Central the previous day, Trump said he had not been involved in the livestream decision but understood it.

Vice President JD Vance said Friday he was unsure whether the execution would be livestreamed and would not watch if it were.

If carried out, Hasan’s execution would be the U.S. military’s first since 1961 and its first by firing squad since 1945, Fox News reported. The source does not establish that the execution or livestream has occurred.
